Visszatértem óta

Kedves (magyarul beszélő és értő:)) mindenki!

Már több mint egy hónapja, hogy visszaértem Lincolnba, ezért úgy érzem, ideje, hogy adjak némi életjelt magamról

A téli szünet egyszerűen fogalmazva mesés volt. Sikerült találkoznom szinte minden nekem fontos emberrel, barátokkal, családdal. Különösen felemelő volt, hogy négy nap kivételével végig együtt tölthettem ezt az időt a kedvessel… hozzá tudnék szokni az állapothoz, amikor velem van! Remélem, lesz rá alkalmam a nem olyan távoli jövőben. Összességében fantasztikus volt az a pár hét, még egyszer köszönöm mindenkinek a beszélgetéseket, partikat, támogatást és pozitív energiát.

Nade térjünk vissza a jelenbe. Röviden: nem sok minden változott. Az életem munkával kapcsolatos oldala (ami a legnagyobb részét teszi ki) nagyjából ugyanolyan, mint volt, ami persze azt is jelenti, hogy ugyanolyan remek. Jók az óráim és továbbra is jó arc és okos emberek vesznek körül egy olyan szellemileg inspiráló környezetben, amiről mindig is álmodtam. A projektem és az Ágival közösen íródó cikkünk (cikkeink…) is szépen haladnak.

Néhány kisebb változás azért akad. Az egyik újdonság hogy próbálok nem túl sokat parázni a múlton és a jövőn (radikálisan leapasztottam például a teendő-listámat, mert jobban bízom abban, hogy a fontos dolgokat nem fogom elfelejteni). Egyelőre úgy tűnik, működik a dolog. A másik változás pedig, hogy áttettem a munka nagy részét az irodába és csak nagyon ritkán dolgozok itthonról. Nagy örömmel tapasztalom, hogy sokkal jobban működik ez a rendszer: az állandó itthon ülés elég lélekromboló tud lenni, ahogy azt az előző félév végén tapasztaltam.

Összességében azt mondhatom, hogy viszonylag gyorsan sikerült felvennem a mindennapi élet normál ritmusát. Joggal kérdezhetitek persze, hogy mi van az izgalmasabb dolgokkal, hiszen nem lehet, hogy folyamatosan unatkozzon Lincolnban az ember… A válaszra szorgalmasan ki is térek majd. Természetesen a következő bejegyzésemben;)

Signs of life/ I am back

Dear all,

It has been more than a month now since I arrived back in Lincoln, so I figured it was high time I gave some signs of life.

The break was, simply put, fabulous. I managed to meet almost every important person in my life, and to hang out with friends and family. I am especially glad that I was able to spend most of it with my beloved… I could get used to having her around and hope that this state will be perpetuated in the not too distant future. Overall, it was a blast and I cannot thank you all for all the great conversations, fun times, parties, and the positive energy I received.

And back to the present. I feel compelled to point out that little has changed. The work part of my life (which makes up the most in terms of time) is pretty much the same, which means the same good. My classes are cool and I am still surrounded by smart and nice people in the intellectually inspiring environment I always dreamed of. My project and the article(s) with Ági are also coming along nicely.

Yet, there are a few minor changes. For one thing I try not to worry too much about planning and ruminating about my past and future and guess what? It seems to be working (at least better than last semester). I also work from the office and not from home. The latter can be, and in fact was (especially around the end of last semester) a very soul-crashing experience in the long run, which makes me especially glad that I switched on to this new system. I guess there has to be some wisdom in the notion about the separation of different spheres of life, after all…

All in all, I can say that my everyday life has a pretty normal rhythm. And what about the special, the extreme, the extraordinary events, you ask? I will tell y’all about it… in my next post;)
